Start the Summer 2018 semester off with a presentation of program and refreshments. Members are invited to bring refreshments for a 'pot luck' meal. Also bring samples of art, crafts, composition, etc. you created in previous sessions for display.

#600 - Vegetarian Cooking & Tasting Center - Ayurveda Wellness Center

Meet at the church parking lot at 8:30 am and carpool to the Ayurveda Wellness Center in Coopersburg, PA. Our host, Dr. Shekhar Annambhotla, an ayurvedic specialist since 1988 will show how various healing spices and condiments can be incorporated into a variety of food preparations to enhance the digestion and assimilation of nutrients. Ayurveda is an ancient science of health, not just an alternative medicine. Return by 3:00 - Cost $25 for Members, $35 for Guests - Max enrollment: 15

#601 - Lehigh Valley IronPigs Baseball Game

Drive direct to Allentown, PA, or meet at the church parking lot at 3:30 pm and carpool to see the Iron Pigs (Phillies farm team) vs. Pawtucket (Boston Red Sox) in their stadium named 2015's "Best Triple-A Ballpark". Enjoy $1 Berks hot dogs and $2 domestic drafts at the two-hour Happy Hour preceding first pitch at 7:05. Parking is $5/car. Tickets will be distributed in advance so that you can arrive when you wish. Return by 11:00 pm - Cost includes seating only (at field level): $11.00 for Members- $21.00 for Guests. Max enrollment: 20.

#602 - Thomas Edison National Historic Park

Leave at 8:30 from the church parking lot and travel by coach to a ranger-led tour at Glenmont, the Thomas Edison home and its electric car collection, in West Orange, NJ. After lunch in Montclair, return to the park for a self-guided tour of the Edison laboratory where the motion picture camera, sound recordings, movies and many other inventions were born. Admission to the park is $10 per person but free to those with a National Park Pass and three friends. Return by 5:30- Cost (includes bus only): $35.00 for Members- $45.00 for Guests. Max enrollment: 30.

#603 - Scenic Paddle Trip


Meet at Edge of the Woods Outfitters 129 Main St. in Delaware Water Gap at 9:30 am for a 10 am departure. A six-mile / 2-3 hour trip through the calmest, most scenic section of Delaware River to Kittitanny Point. Choose a canoe, kayak, or tandem kayak. Take as long as you like to explore this section of river that is outstanding for paddling and fishing. A gentle current will carry you down stream while you relax and watch for wildlife, such as Bald Eagles that are abundant on this section of river. Pickup & return to Edge of the Woods Outfitters by 2 pm - Cost: $36.00 for Members- $45.00 for Guests.
